Las Vegans Show Up 8,000 Strong to Raise 400k for Aids Walk
As you may already know AID for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN) hosted their 19th Annual AIDS Walk yesterday morning at the World Market Center in downtown Las Vegas. More than 8,000 people were in attendance, helping raise $401,000 – which will go towards assisting and educating more than 3,000 men, women and children who are infected with AIDS and HIV in Southern Nevada.

The event brought in some pretty big resident entertainers, like Penn & Teller, who matched every dollar their team raised for the event – which summed up to more than $110,000.00 after matching. There was also Chris Saldana, co-host of KLAS Ch. 8 Eye Whitness News, Duncan Payton of 105.7 FM, entertainers from Phanton, Jersey Boys, Lion King, Jubilee, Le Reve and more.
For over 18 years AFAN has hosted this AIDS Walk with great success. This event enables sponsors like Blue Man Group, Penn & Teller, World Market Center, Bank of America, Wells Fargo Bank, Starbucks and others to come together and be involved in contributing to a good cause.
Thank you to the city of Las Vegas for showing up over 8,000 strong and helping raise over $400,000 to support the AID for AIDS of Nevada.
