Unique October Events in Las Vegas: What To Do

Ask most locals, and they’ll likely tell you that October is the ideal time of the year to visit the Las Vegas valley. The weather hovers around 80 degrees, days are still long and the summer crowds have died off. If you’ll be in Las Vegas this October, fill your days by checking out these events:

Las Vegas Bike Fest – Join thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts for the Las Vegas Bike Fest, which runs from September 30-October 3. This year marks the tenth year for the event, which will be held in a variety of venues around the city. The Vendor Village, set up in Cashman Center, will feature more than 250 companies selling custom bikes, parts, accessories, apparel and more.

Frightdome – Beginning October 1, Circus Circus opens its doors for the annual Frightdome, which runs through the entire month of October. Fun for those 12 and older, this Halloween-themed event includes several haunted houses and mazes, costumed characters and creepy shows. Buy VIP tickets in advance to avoid long lines.

Art in the Park – Boulder City’s annual Art in the Park will be held October 2-October 3 this year. From 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on both days, more than 300 juried fine art, fine craft and traditional craft artisans will have handmade items for sale. In addition to browsing jewelry, pottery, ceramics, photography and other art forms, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, demonstrations and activities for children.

Age of Chivalry Renaissance Festival – Now in its 17th year, the annual Las Vegas Renaissance Festival will settle in at Sunset Park October 8-October 10. Enjoy authentic food, browse items created by hundreds of artisans and marvel at the costumes worn by festival actors and visitors. There are concerts all weekend and more than 50 shows each day, including historical re-enactments, jousting tournaments and medieval pageantry.

Grand Slam for Children – On October 9, join other community members in making Las Vegas a better place to live with the Grand Slam for Children. This philanthropic event includes an exclusive gala and auction that benefit the Andre Agassi Foundation for Education. This year A-name musicians Elton John, Rob Thomas, Jason Mraz and the Canadian Tenors will be performing at the gala.

Professional Bull Riders Championships – Pull on your cowboy boots and head out to the Professional Bull Riders Championships, which will be held October 20-October 24 at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV. Days are packed with riders vying for the top spot in the arena. Tickets start at $21.00 a person.
