Three Men Take Stuffed Alligator Out For Mud Bogging
HOWELL, Michigan ~ (Livingston County Daily Press and Argus/AP) ~ Local authorities report that three intoxicated men stole a 14-foot long flattened & stuffed alligator, strapped it down on a pick-up truck and took it off-roading.
According to a report published in the Livingston County Daily Press and Argus the problem started way back on June 25th of this year. A theft from a local barn in Hartland Township, about 40 miles northwest of Detroit resulted in the missing 14-foot alligator, which was preserved in a rug-style mounting. Sheriff Bob Bezotte said the alligator's owner found tire tracks near his barn and followed them to a backwoods party near Deerfield Township.
At the party Bezotte found three men driving their trucks through the mud, all drunk with the alligator strapped to one of the vehicles. 55-year-old Douglas Ward and 60-year-old Roy Griffith, both from Linden, and 53-year-old John Sanborn from Harrison were arrested and charged with breaking and entering. They are set to appear in Livingston County District Court on July 20th, no comment has been from their defense attorneys.
