LOS ANGELES, Calif. –Actress Scarlet Johansson, the latest victim of a nude photo hacker has contacted the FBI after the alleged photos of her surfaced on the web Wednesday.
The 26-year-old, "Lost in Translation" star has reportedly contacted the FBI this morning because she believes this is a “criminal act,” according to gossip site TMZ.
A source close to Johansson tells TMZ that her camp contacted the FBI to investigate and catch this band of tech-savvy thieves who hacked their way into her cell phone and stole private intimate images of her and then passed them off to websites such as Perez Hilton and Mediatakeout.com.
The alleged photos are said to depict Johansson topless, another is said to show her naked from head-to-toe from behind, including her bottom as she takes a photo in the mirror while standing.
One of the sites that published the photos doubts the authenticity of the photos but left it up to the viewers to decide.
Earlier this year, Johansson was named one of 50 victims who had their cell phones or emails hacked by this group.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens also met with the FBI to discuss the hacking of her email account after photos surfaced showing her engaged in a kiss with another woman.
Other celebrity victims include actress Jessica Alba, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, Christina Aguilera, Ali Larter and Miley Cyrus.
The FBI has refused to comment on the case because it is an open investigation, but according to an unnamed source, the FBI is actively hunting these e-thieves down.
