The city known for the “quickie wedding” may soon be seeing the most popular bridal reality TV today in its town.
Producers of cable TV reality series “Say Yes to the Dress” are close to working out a deal that will put the show in Las Vegas in the near future. They’re currently working on a pilot episode focusing on women wanting to find the perfect wedding dress for their big day in Las Vegas.
Judy Snider, who is the owner of Celebrations, a Las Vegas bridal and fashion store, is excited to see how viewers will respond to the madness of Vegas brides. “People know that Vegas brides are second to none,” says Snider. “There’s a much different caliber of bride in Las Vegas than there is anywhere else in the world.”
The pilot will be filmed at Snider’s shop later this month.
The original “Say Yes to the Dress” series began airing episodes about the staff and the customers of Kleinfeld Bridal, which is a popular bridal shop in New York City. The show has created many spinoffs, which includes “Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta,” “Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids,” “Say Yes to the Dress: Monte’s Take,” “Say Yes to the Dress: Big Bliss,” “Say Yes to the Dress: Randy Knows Best,” and “Randy To The Rescue.”
As they stand, plans for the Las Vegas pilot show are to air on TLC in November, Snider said. TLC officials then will decide whether to pursue a Las Vegas-based series after ratings and response to the show are in.
