Review: Hussongs Cantina Las Vegas at Mandalay Place

Hussong's Cantina Las Vegas is one of the newest establishments serving up Mexican cuisine here in the valley. They say, "If you haven't been to Hussong's, you haven't been to Mexico!" Sitting inside the mall connector at Mandalay Place, Hussong's Cantina brings its authentic Mexican surroundings and unique blends of drinks to Las Vegas.

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a lovely hostess who sat us at our table across from the bar, before meeting our every friendly waitress, Danielle. We took a few moments to snack on the basket of chips that was brought over with our drinks and I tried "original Margarita," which was served up with lime juice. Next, to compliment the chips, we were brought a side of Guacamole, which seemed a bit pricey for the serving size, but made up for it with taste!

For dinner I kept it simple and had soft chicken tacos, while my company, Jennifer, had Enchiladas. At one point, the Manager Omar came over to chat with us for a bit before ending our dinner with Fried Ice Cream and a Chocolate Cake for desert.

The food was good and moderately priced while I think the atmosphere would be perfect perhaps for Happy Hour drinks or a place to grab a bite before going out for the night. The live music definitely set the tone for the venue but at times made conversation very difficult. The casual atmosphere was a perfect fit for a guy like myself, who doesn't love places that are too "stuffy" or formal. I especially appreciated that personality of Omar, Danielle and the rest of the team members, who made Jennifer and I feel right at home during our stay at their establishment.

In summary, I would definitely recommend Hussong's Cantina at Mandalay Place as a great place to grab a cocktail after work or perhaps celebrate an event with a group. Hussong's friendly service is guaranteed to put a smile on your face - especially if you ask for Danielle!

Houssong's Cantina is located inside the mall connector which connects Mandalay Bay and The Luxor and is open daily from 11am to 11pm. For reservations and more information, call 702.553.0123.
