Razzie Awards Nominations: Did Your 2010 Favorite Get Beat Up?
Awards shows are usually a time that celebrities the globe over flock to with designer dresses flowing, hair primped to perfection, and of course teeth and jewelry sparkling along with gorgeous arm candy. Well, this is not one of those shows. These are the awards you don't want to get. And unfortunately for the entertainment world, 2010 was a banner year for movies and actors that should have been, well, banned!
The 31st Annual Razzies Awards and nominations for 2010 are in. And chances are some of your favorites got beaten up this year as well. For worst picture, we have “The Bounty Hunter,” “The Last Airbender,” “Sex & The City 2,” “Twilight Saga,” and spoof movie, “Vampires Suck.”
Ready for the list in the worst actor category? First up, we have Jack Black who starred in “Gulliver's Travels .” Next we have, Gerard Butler in “The Bounty Hunter.” Then for two reasons Ashton Kutcher pulled in nods for “Killers” and “Valentine's Day.” Our abs boy, Taylor Lautner did the same kind of damage as Kutcher landing him on the list of nominees for “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Valentine's Day” as well. Then lastly, the final spot goes to Robert Pattinson for his work once again in “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and “Remember Me” which ironically is something people are trying to forget.
The worst actress category would not feel complete without a mention of our favorite overrated chick of the decade, Jennifer Aniston. She swings in for “The Bounty Hunter” and “The Switch.” Miley Cyrus nails it for “The Last Song” which, it unfortunately is not. But, I feel she can be exonerated from the list this year based on her work in that little documentary we all saw where she showcased her bong playing talent. All four gal pals from “Sex and the City 2” are in this year: Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. Nothing that a pair of Manolo Blahniks and a martini at noon couldn't fix. Megan Fox sweeps in for her role in “Jonah Hex.” And last but not least – well maybe – Kristen Stewart in – yup, you guessed it – “Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Gee, it seems if you want to blame something in 2010 on something else, mention “Twilight”... it seems to be the go-to bash.
For complete nominee coverage, Razzies.com have the remanding categories which include, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Eye-Gouging Mis-Use of 3-D (a special category for 2010), Worst Screen Couple / Worst Screen Ensemble, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel.
I wonder what 2011 will bring us in the entertainment world. Maybe it will make a complete turn around and really wow us. Ah... what am I saying? 2011 is already responsible for allowing the release of “No Strings Attached.” What a concept! Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher (our friend mentioned above) basically decide to f**k each other without the pesky relationship aspect. Then – get this – they start to want more. Woah, give me a second while I put on my surprised face. Who in the hell could have seen that plot unfolding like that? Maybe anybody that heard the premise and has had sex? Well, looks like 2011 is shot. Here's looking at you 2012!
