Poetry Nightclub Las Vegas Closes Doors for Relocation
Poetry Nightclub Las Vegas is one of the most underrated nightclubs in Las Vegas, in my opinion. With the sounds of 97.5’s DJ Franzen on the weekends, the music was always right – and the second floor party spot at Caesar’s Palace was always packed. If you’ve never been there, unfortunately you’ve missed your chance, as this past Tuesday July 28th they closed their doors inside the Caesars Forum Shops for good, until they finalize a new location on or around Las Vegas Blvd.
As some of you may have known, there has been an ongoing dispute with the management group that holds the lease for Poetry Nightclub and Caesars Forum Shops. The decision was made to close up the forum shops at a certain time (with gates), making club goers have to walk outside the back of Caesars through construction, just to enter the club. The reason? They claimed that they were not comfortable with the demographic of Poetry Nightclub’s clientele – blaming their clientele for different security issues happening around the Casino floor after club closing. Not only did this hinder club promotions, but certain members of the Poetry Nightclub team felt discriminated against because it was a hip-hop venue. In addition, Wolfgang Pucks Chinois Restaurant which was directly downstairs closed earlier during the week – which helped with decision to shut down operations - as they were leasing directly from the restaurant. Regardless, the nightclub decided to close up shop and look for another venue location.
In the meantime, there is an ongoing lawsuit pending from Poetry Nightclub Las Vegas against the landlord and property management group they once operated with. Poetry Nightclub has every intention of reopening as soon as its new location is set in stone and ready to go. With that said, have no fear – Poetry Nightclub will be back – hopefully by the end of this year!
