New Batman Pics, X-Men First Class Sequel Score A Writer [PICS]

This week's Hollywood news is fully centered on upcoming action films.† From the ongoing The Dark Knight Rises spoiler-ific pics finding their way online to announcements regarding future X-Men and James Bond Films.

Pics from The Dark Knight Rises that were posted on SuperHeroHype.com included that already and still unnamed bat-flying machine (Batcopter or Batplane?) and various snapshots from an action packed motorcycle chase and one pic of an oddly unrealistic explosive device.† Remember how bombs looked in Batman Forever?† This one looks pretty similar.† Letís hope that the amazing looking flying bat-contraption isnít the only well designed piece of art in The Dark Knight Rises, of course the film is destined for greatness.

On the Marvel end of the superhero pool, also reported by SuperHeroHype, X-Men: The Last Stand writer Simon Kinberg has just been attached to the next film in the series, a sequel to this yearís X-Men: First Class.† While First Class was loved by geeks everywhere The Last Stand was the butt of many jokes and was despised by many.† However it should be remembered that Kinberg was a producer on First Class and in his defense the story of The Last Stand was expectable, just not executed effectively.† Unfortunately it remains to be seen if Matthew Vaughn will return to the directorís chair for the sequel to First Class.

Last in the action news for the day is the upcoming Bond film.† Producers have confirmed the film will be entitled Skyfall and will star Javier Bardem as the villain and the returning Daniel Craig as Bond.† Sam Mendes is directing the film which will also star Naomie Harris (28 Days Later and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Manís Chest) as new field agent Eve, Ralph Fiennes and of course the incomparable Judi Dench returning as M.
