Man Shoots Toilet In Bar Named Shooters
WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania ~ (Wilkes-Barre Times-Leader /KXAM-TV ) ~ A man with a stolen handgun shot a toilet in a tavern called Shooters Bar.
According to the criminal complaint, Wilkes-Barre Police received a report that a man had shot a toilet in the men's room of Shooters Bar. When they investigated, they claim the fixture was damaged and one bullet casing was located. Cops also found out Leroy Michael Smith walked out of the bar immediately after the shot and returned five minutes later. Police believed he stashed the firearm under the driver's seat of a car driven by Heather Hartley. She was stopped by officers as she was leaving the parking lot and allowed them to search her vehicle. Inside they found a loaded .40 caliber handgun which cops say was reported as stolen to the Edwardsville Police Department in 2008.
Smith was charged with reckless endangerment, receiving stolen property and possession of a firearm by a convict; he was released after posting $5,000 bail. Hartley was charged with receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license; she was jailed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $5,000 bail. Preliminary hearing are scheduled for August 9th in Central Court.
