Lithuanian Mayor Crushes Illegally Parked Cars With Army Vehicle [VIDEO]

As Americans, we rarely look to other nations when it comes to how we do things legally. And don't give me that English common law crap... because we thoroughly take interpretive license with sensible judgment each and every day to alter it. But this time, I'm with the Lithuanians on this one.

Vilnius Mayor and obvious bike enthusiast is fed up with Lithuanian drivers parking in the bike lane in his city. "I want to point out that if you have a car and more money it doesn't mean that you can park it everywhere. Recently there's been an increase in this type of parking violations, and it shows a lack of respect for others," the mayor told the Irish Times and other media. So get a load out of how our political buddy took care of it.

Huff Post Canada reported, “in a rather dramatic public service announcement Zuokas, a 43-year-old former war corespondent, hops on an armored personnel carrier and crushes a Mercedes parked in one of that city's bike lanes.” Check out the awesome video below!

And what does the mayor think of his actions? Simple really: “That's what will happen if you park your car illegally.” Now I must come clean and concede that the entire event was indeed staged, however, you must admit that is one hell of a way to broadcast your parking violation disdain.

The video has been released by the city government and since then – get this – a Rolls Royce and Ferrari who regularly park in the same spot as the crushed vehicle have seized their cycle lane parking habits.

Stunt or not... the Mayor said he's fully prepared to do this again as the real thing should citizens continue to disobey parking regulations.

So what do you think Los Angeles? There are millions of dollars worth of vehicles to crush on Sunset Plaza alone. Now if only our mayor had an army tank and some much needed balls!
