Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter IV" Album Cover Revealed, Release Date Pushed Back
While many musical artists, these days find themselves frantically searching for the most jaw-dropping cover art to attract consumers to their product, Lil Wayne, historically, has kept his project's aesthetics fairly tame. And with the YM frontman's highly anticipated forthcoming album nearing, the coinciding artwork made its way onto the internet earlier today.
Following the theme set by his last album, Tha Carter III, the upcoming work, Tha Carter IV, will don yet another grab of Weezy from his younger years. Pictured is a shot of Lil Wayne when he was just that — little. A seven-year-old Wayne, pimped out in his second grade graduation cap and gown as well as decked out with his big boy tats and piercings. Ironic? Nah, not for Weezy F.
Not only that however, but disclosed along with the craftily humorous artistic expression was that the album's release date will be unfortunately, but expectantly pushed back. That's right. No longer a May drop date, the Carter follow-up album is now set to hit stores on June 14. Sorry, kids. You'll have to wait another month.
But with the delayed release will come an onslaught of premature track leaks from the album. Not so mad now, huh? And if you are, just take another look at the cover art and you'll either smile, chuckle, or begin a full-out knee-slapper.
Nonetheless, the Young Money camp continues to control the headlines, and don't expect Tha Carter IV hype to die down any time soon.
