Green Day Singer Kicked Off Southwest Flight For Saggy Pants

OAKLAND, California ~(MSNBC)~ Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, love him or loathe him, was once a pillar of the teen-aged fashion sensibility.  You’re welcome Hot Topic.  Recently the Green Day front man’s fashion choice got him booted off of Southwest Airlines flight.

Billie Joe tweeted his frustration after being kicked off of the flight.  “Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low!  What the f---?  No joke!” he tweeted.

An ABC news producer was aboard the same flight and witnessed the entire incident.  A flight attendant asked Armstrong to pull his pants up and Armstrong replied aren’t there “better things to do than worry about that?”

Armstrong repeatedly declined to raise his trousers, even after he was warned that he could be ejected from the flight.  And then he was.

A Southwest spokesperson was characteristically even keel saying, “as soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this customer’s experience.”

Southwest has a history with sagging pants, they kicked off a University of New Mexico football star for the same offense.  After photos surfaced of a white man boarding a plane in women’s underwear and stockings, Southwest was accused of racial profiling in the case of the African American football player.

Also, recently Kevin Smith, director of Clerks and other classics, was ejected from a flight for taking up too much room.  The director launched a joking smear campaign against the airline.

So there you have it, a punk rocker rebelling against the oppressor with skintight low rider jeans.  How original.
