Florida Man Takes Krispy Kreme Truck For A Ride
OCALA, Florida ~ (Ocala Star-Banner/Ocala.com) ~ A man told local police he stole a truck full of doughnuts because he was tired of walking.
Ocala Police report that it all started when two vehicles had a minor traffic incident; when officers Leonard Griggs arrived at the scene, 20-year-old Randall Travis Roberts told Griggs that he had stolen the 2011 GMC box truck from a Wal*Mart parking lot in Haines City. Roberts was secured and Griggs called for backup.
Officer Nigel Hardy showed up and confirmed that the truck was stolen. Roberts told the cops that he had grown tired of walking and his feet hurt. That's when he saw the truck, owned by Gulf Florida Doughnut Distributing in Tampa, parked behind the Wal*Mart with the keys in the ignition switch. Roberts also said he took the truck "because he needed somewhere to sleep."
When Hardy searched the inside of the truck he found 338 boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts in the back, along with a plastic bag, containing 10 grams of marijuana , found on the floor next to the driver's seat. Roberts told the cops the weed didn't belong to him, and he was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail. It is not known if he ate any of the doughnuts.
