Florida Attorney Sought Naked Sword Fight
TITUSVILLE, Florida ~ (WTSP-TV) ~ A defense attorney was arrested after police claim he threatened to kill his girlfriend in a naked sword fight.
36-year-old lawyer Terry Lee Locy is facing charges on domestic violence battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a third-degree felony which can be punished by up to five years in prison. According to a police affidavit, Locy and his live-in girlfriend were arguing early on the morning of August 10th about his "drinking in excess". Locy then grabbed a mirror off a door and "raised it up as if he were attempting to strike" her, according to Agent Pamela Hibbs of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office.
That was when the unidentified girlfriend grabbed the mirror's mounting hook from the door and flung in toward Locy, who suffered a cut on his head. Locy then took a shower and afterwards reportedly handed the woman a sheathed sword, saying, "you're going to need this" according to court documents. Locy then retrieved a larger sword, pulled it from its sheath and allegedly said, "I'm going to kill you". Hibbs reported that, after the woman tried to run away, he "slammed" her onto a living room couch where he punched her several times. She managed to get free and call 911. She told investigators it was then that Locy, still naked, left the house with the sword.
Locy was arrested on August 11th at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach; he was released from the Brevard County Detention Center on the afternoon of August 12th and ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation. Locy, who has offices in Rockledge, has represented clients in murder trials and in 2009 he defended a man who was convicted of robbing a credit union and hiding the stolen cash in his prosthetic leg.
