Family Fiasco: Dane Cooks Brother/Manager Caught Embezzling Money

Comic/Actor Dane Cook was recently made aware that his half brother, Darryl McCauley, also his business manager, has been embezzling money right out from under him for who knows how long. The family culprit has since been ordered to serve five to six in the big house, on top of shelling out a messily $12 million to his brother, Cook.

Pretty much played out just as they say, huh folks? Never get in business with a family member. I believe it's safe to say that funny man Dane learned his lesson the hard way.

Not only was the half brother targeted as the main perpetrator, but the brother's wife, Erika was also pinned to be in on the theft. She has thus been sentenced to 2.5 - 3 years in prison on two counts of larceny. A regular Bonnie and Clyde right there.

And it's not like McCauley was getting shafted in regards to his work under the comedian. Cook dished out roughly $12,500 per month as "loyal" payment to his ex business manager. Managed his way right into the slammer. Sorry, had to throw that in there.

When approached on the highly unfortunate situation Cook spoke, "a terrible betrayal… "Woke up one day and a lot of stuff was missing. There is a good chunk of money that is certainly not accounted for. That's all I can say about it at this point."

No love lost in all this, or wait, much love lost, maybe. Gotta feel for Dane, but be aware, none are as ruthless as your own kin.
