How to get Drunk in Las Vegas With Twenty Dollars
Before I write anything, let me say this: please drink responsibly. Now that that is out of the way, let’s get on with the fun. There’s no denying that drinking on the strip can be pricey, but that doesn’t mean you have to tap into your gaming fund to get a nice buzz going. If your goal for the evening is to get drunk, here are a few ways to do it for twenty bucks.
"Blondies" at Planet Hollywood
$1 draft and well drinks at Bills.
Tab: 6 New Castles = $6. Level of drunk: 3 out of 5.
Bills Saloon is that tiny casino on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Flamingo Ave. that you’ve probably overlooked. Tucked away in the back corner is a small bar that serves draft beer and well drinks for a dollar. The downside? Well, the cups are ten ounces, so not a full drink. Also, you’re limited to purchasing only two at a time, so ordering can be a chore as there is not a lot of seating in the area.
Blondies between 3pm - 6pm every day.
Tab: all you can drink = $20. Level of drunk: 4 out of 5.
Blondies inside the Planet Hollywood resort has all you can drink well drinks and drafts between 3pm and 6pm every day. Unlimited drinks for three hours can definitely get you drunk, but 6pm is a little early. Be sure to pace yourself if you have other plans later on that night.
Beer pong at O’Sheas.
Tab: 2 pitchers of beer = $20. Level of drunk: 2 maybe 3 out of 5 (depending on if you win or lose).
Ahh… beer pong. What would we do without you? Well, we’d probably do a lot better in college, but that’s beside the point. O’Sheas has beer pong tables set up all day every day. They give you a pitcher for each side, and depending on your skill level, you’ll either get trashed, or watch your opponent get trashed. As a side note, if you’re interested in playing in the World Series of Beer Pong, then they hold a tournament every Thursday at 4pm.
Tab: 6 beers and a shot of Jagr = $15.50 Level of drunk: 5 out of 5.
Ellis Island is technically off the strip (on Koval Ave. behind Ballys) but it is still within walking distance. The casino contains its own brewery, and they brew their beer slightly on the stronger side. At only $1.50 a glass, it’s hard not to get drunk at Ellis Island. Have a couple of those and a couple of shots and you’ll be hitting on the waitresses in no time at all.
On a serious note, be sure you have a designated driver if you drive. If you’re from out of state, then please remember what hotel you’re staying at. Drink plenty of water, and be safe.
