Disney: Billy Ray Cyrus’ Claim He Never Made a Dime off Miley Untrue

It seems like Mr. One-hit-wonder, aka “Achy, Breaky Heart,” is claiming that he never made any money from the whole Hannah Montana phenomenon. Disney people on the other hand are saying that’s a load of crap.
In a recent interview with GQ magazine, Billy Ray Cyrus, 49, opened up on how his life has gone to hell since his daughter Miley was cast in the Disney teen drama Hannah Montana.
Not only has he filed for divorce from his wife Tish, but he along with most of America are watching his daughter fall into what looks like a ‘Lindsay Lohan downward spiral.”

He actually went as far as to place his daughter in the same category as other former train-wrecks like Kurt Cobain, Anna Nicole Smith and Michael Jackson.

Wonderful.

And the worst part of it all is that even though it “destroyed” his entire family, Cyrus claims he never made any financial gain from the Hanna Montana Empire.
"For the record," he says, "to set it straight, I want to tell you: I've never made a dime off of Miley. You got a lot of people have made percentages off of her. I'm proud to say to this day I've never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of my daughter."

According to a source at Disney, his suggestion that he never made any cash off his daughter is “ludicrous,” and that both Miley and Billy Ray have "been clear with [Disney] about their desire to distance themselves from [the company]", and they "saw it coming for a long time. She wanted to mature herself, but it kind of backfired. Her future without Disney is TBD.”
Well, it looks like he’s pretty upset about not cashing out even though he put in a lot of effort.

“Some gave all. It is my motto, and guess what? I have to eat that one. I some-gave-all'd it all right. I some-gave-all'd it while everybody else was going to the bank. It's all sad."
