City Marathon Shuts Down Las Vegas for Charity
As most of you are finding out (the hard way), the “Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon” has shut down several parts of Las Vegas in efforts to raise funds to benefit the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
Clark County, The City of Las Vegas, Las Vegas Events and Las Vegas Convention and Visitor’s Authority are coming together to host the inaugural charity event. Powered by Zappos.com, the marathon will benefit the Crohn’s & Colities Foundation of America and is being deemed a world-class athletic event. People from all of the 50 states are flying into Las Vegas to participate. It’s awesome turn-out of over 25,000 participates is the result of street closures throughout the city this morning!
The event features tons of different entertainment throughout the course of the marathon including live bands and more. The economic impact of this amazing event is anticipated to bring more than $20 million dollars to Las Vegas businesses, on top of what it’s doing in its charitable efforts.
