Carlos Santana Teams Up With Project Sole to Recycle Shoes

I had the fortunate opportunity to go see the legend, Carlos Santana, perform at The Joint at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino here in Las Vegas last Thursday. Not only was it an amazing show with an awesome live band, but the whole performance was put on for a great cause.

In celebration of Earth Day and Santana's humanitarian efforts, Carlos Santana partnered up with "Project Sole," a Las Vegas based nonprofit organization formed to collect footwear for communities in need. Everyone attending the show was encouraged to recycle their slightly-used footwear during Santana's performances starting April 21st continuing through May 2nd.

“More than 300 million children around the world are barefoot and therefore deprived of one of life’s basic necessities,” said Jaron Wilson of Project Sole. “The donations made by Santana fans will go to benefit disaster efforts in Chile after the recent, devastating 8.8 earthquake. In addition, they help protect the environment and allow us to continue the cycle of giving, one step at a time.”

Shoe donations can be made at the Hard rock Hotel & Casino Box Office daily from 10am to 8pm or shoes can be dropped off prior to each performance, which start at 8pm. Shoes will be donated to local shelters and schools.

Thank you Carlos Santana for an amazing performance and for working with Project Sole to help bring durable footwear to those in need!
