Bankrupt Idiots Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt Blow $10 Million
Looks like the days of living it up like rock stars are over. Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag met with a bankruptcy attorney for advice after blowing through their $10 million fortune in television earnings.
“We were immature, worrying too much about the famous part instead of the actual business part ... In hindsight, we shouldn’t have spent any of our money. We should have been low-key and saved. We spoke with a bankruptcy attorney and I’ve looked into unemployment checks," Spencer told Life & Style.
Supposedly, MTV canceling their The Hills cash cow was the biggest shock for the couple.
“We thought The Hills was going to be like 90210 and we’d have another five to 10 years,” Spencer says. “The ratings were consistent. But we never saw Jersey Shore coming. Before, TV audiences were fine with seeing us all argue, but now they want you to punch one another in the face and hook up with three different people. Our cast was a bit boring and snoozeworthy in comparison. No wonder we got canceled.”
The couple has now moved out of their $35,000 per month Malibu mansion and in with Spencer’s parents, who provide the unlucky pair with groceries each week and have also helped talk Montag out of posing for Playboy (this time for a real naked spread) for some extra cash.
And now we know why they faked the divorce. According to Spencer, they were trying to land a new reality gig (which eventually fell through) and because “Divorcing was the only way to keep Heidi’s career going because everyone hated me so much.”
Considering they owe over $2million in taxes, it looks like the crazy couple better start saving up.
